Frankie J. Diaz

Frankie J. Diaz is a 39 year old male who has been treated at our Gates location by Bill Jackson, PT.  Frankie initially started physical therapy following vascular bypass surgery in his leg.  He needed the surgery to save his leg from amputation, a complication of diabetes.  He began physical therapy with a stiff painful knee and required the use of a walker.  At one point, Frankie was evaluated for a scooter.

Frankie has been able to achieve his personal goals with hard work and determination.  His physical therapy regimen included riding a stationary bicycle, stretching and strengthening exercises.  Bill was able to continuously advance the strengthening exercises and work with Frankie on walking independently.  Frankie is now able to walk with no assistive device.  He has greater confidence with his daily tasks and has come a long way from almost depending on a scooter for mobility.

The most helpful information Frankie learned in physical therapy was that with hard work and determination in a friendly environment, he has been able to become more independent.

Frankie has recently returned to physical therapy following subacromial decompression (SAD) of the left shoulder.  SAD is a surgical procedure required when the shoulder joint is compromised due to osteoarthritis or chronic inflammation of the rotator cuff muscles.  He is once again working with Bill with the goal of improving range of motion and strength of his arm.  Frankie is already reporting greater independence with his daily tasks and is looking forward to another positive outcome with physical therapy.
