Robin M.
Robin M. was treated in physical therapy for posterior tibilais tendonopathy post surgery. She was seen in our Webster clinic by Daniel Geen and also worked in the water with Lindsay Jackson. Robin had a frustrating course following surgery with many set-backs and flare-ups of her ankle and foot. Through treatment at GVPT she learned to listen to her body and not to over-do it. Robin is an active person and was always eager to try new and more challenging exercises. She has successfully learned how to incrementally add new excercise and stretches without stressing her foot and ankle. She also reports having a list of stretches to do to alleviate flare-ups of her symptoms which has allowed her to continue progressing after being discharged from therapy. Robin found great benefit in having pool therapy treatments in addition to her regular clinic appointments. She states that when the land exercises were too painful she was able to see progress doing the water exercises. Robin has achieved her personal goals of being able to do everyday "normal" activity around the house without pain. She has returned to gardening as well. Robin would recommend treatment at GVPT because her therapists were always available to answer questions in between appointments. She would recommend that people not wait until their symptoms are severe before seeking treatment. She wants others to know how important it is to listen to your body and ask for help. The therapists at GVPT are thrilled Robin is doing so well and hopes she continues to spread her message!
